25.07.08: Bus reform offers golden opportunity for passenger improvements
Proposed reforms of the way bus services are subsidised by the DfT offer a perfect opportunity to deliver dramatic service improvements to passengers, the Government's national transport adviser said today. CfIT has provided Government with an extensive evidence-based response to the DfT's consultation on the Bus Service Operators Grant (BSOG), following updated analysis and new research on the bus industry.

Peter Hendy, chair of the Commission for Integrated Transport, said of today's Budget: "On transport, this Budget takes a number of welcome steps in a direction which the Commission strongly supports, because it will help to start to tackle the serious problems the UK now faces, among them climate change and congestion".
